لِإِيلَـٰفِ قُرَيۡشٍ
For the accustomed security of the Quraysh –
لِإِيلَـٰفِFor (the) familiarity
قُرَيۡشٍ(of the) Quraish,
Tafsir Ibn Kathir

Which was revealed in Makkah

﴿ بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ﴾

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

﴿ لِإِيلَـٰفِ قُرَيۡشٍ ﴾
﴿ إِۦلَـٰفِهِمۡ رِحۡلَةَ ٱلشِّتَآءِ وَٱلصَّيۡفِ ﴾
﴿ فَلۡيَعۡبُدُواْ رَبَّ هَـٰذَا ٱلۡبَيۡتِ ﴾
﴿ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَطۡعَمَهُم مِّن جُوعٍ۬ وَءَامَنَهُم مِّنۡ خَوۡفِۭ ﴾

(1. For the Ilaf of the Quraysh.) (2. Their Ilaf caravans, in winter and in summer.) (3. So, let them worship the Lord of this House.) (4. Who has fed them against hunger, and has made them safe from fear.)

إِۦلَـٰفِهِمۡ رِحۡلَةَ ٱلشِّتَآءِ وَٱلصَّيۡفِ
Their accustomed security [in] the caravan of winter and summer –
إِۦلَـٰفِهِمۡTheir familiarity
رِحۡلَةَ(with the) journey
ٱلشِّتَآءِ(of) winter
وَٱلصَّيۡفِand summer,

فَلۡيَعۡبُدُواْ رَبَّ هَـٰذَا ٱلۡبَيۡتِ
Let them worship the Lord of this House,
فَلۡيَعۡبُدُواْSo let them worship
رَبَّ(the) Lord
هَـٰذَا(of) this
ٱلۡبَيۡتِHouse,
Tafsir Ibn Kathir

Which was revealed in Makkah

ٱلَّذِىٓ أَطۡعَمَهُم مِّن جُوعٍ۬ وَءَامَنَهُم مِّنۡ خَوۡفِۭ
Who has fed them, [saving them] from hunger and made them safe, [saving them] from fear.
ٱلَّذِىٓThe One Who
أَطۡعَمَهُمfeeds them
مِّنagainst
جُوعٍ۬hunger
وَءَامَنَهُمand gives them security
مِّنۡagainst
خَوۡفِۭfear.
